For you, Nova

Not everyone works like youDiscover how others are different

Human Design describes five energy types: five ways children’s energy can work. Your passport shows yours. A friend or sibling may have a different type. This can help you understand why you sometimes need different things.

Your energy type: Projector

Projector — you notice things clearly. You may like being asked for your ideas, and you may need rest after joining in a lot.

How other children may work

  • Generator — this child’s energy wakes up by itself when something feels fun. The child enjoys trying, practising and wanting to keep going.
  • Manifesting Generator — this child may jump from one idea to the next. The child can explore, change its route and tell others its plan.
  • Manifestor — this child may feel its own idea to start something. Telling the plan helps others understand; afterwards the child may want to recharge.
  • Reflector — this child can strongly feel the atmosphere of a place. Some days feel different from others, and big choices can have time.

You might want to play straight after school while your friend wants to draw quietly first. You might know what you want while someone else wants to sleep on it. Ask: ‘What would feel nice for you now?’ Together you can find something that works for both of you.

No type is better. A type does not tell everything about you, and children with the same type are different too. Always ask how someone feels or what they need. You do not need to know a friend’s type to be kind.

What does this mean for me?Your stars in everyday words

Dear Nova, you are like a wise owl noticing things others might miss. You don’t need to keep trying harder to be special. Your way of seeing already matters. When someone truly listens, your insight can shine. Give yourself time to rest, too: even a wise owl doesn’t need to fly all day.

FOR PARENTS

Nova’s Human Design

Parenting can become gentler when we ask not ‘How do I get my child to cooperate?’ but ‘What is my child trying to show me?’ This guide invites you to notice your child’s own rhythm. It does not explain everything; it offers another way to listen, especially on days when you seem to lose each other.

Projector

The essence of this child

A Projector child may notice what others miss: tension behind a smile, a better way to do something, someone who has not been heard. In Human Design, this is the gift of seeing clearly rather than constantly doing more. A quiet look may hide a rich inner world; ideas may pour out once your child feels genuinely welcome.

Your child does not have to prove their worth by matching everyone else’s pace. Deep involvement may be followed by a need for quiet or closeness. Specific recognition — ‘You noticed she was left out’ — says more than a general compliment. Let being seen feel like an invitation, not a duty to be wise all the time.

How their energy gets moving

Recognition and invitation

For important participation or offering guidance, welcome your child’s perspective first: ‘Would you like to tell me what you see?’ Waiting for an invitation does not mean needing permission to play, ask questions or seek help. Encourage initiative while showing that advice lands better when someone is open to it. Their authority helps them decide whether an invitation fits.

Their inner compass

Splenic authority — a quiet sense in the moment

Human Design describes a gentle immediate awareness: something feels comfortable or not, right now. Listen without demanding an instant logical explanation.

Intuition and fear can overlap for a child. Do not make intuition an infallible test. Explore the situation together; feelings never replace safety agreements, health needs or adult help.

What you might say

‘You say this place doesn’t feel nice. I’m listening. What do you notice, and how can we help you feel safe?’

Recognising what is happening inside

When things flow
Success — feeling that their contribution is seen
When things feel difficult
Bitterness — feeling unseen or unwelcome

Relaxed involvement and enjoyment in sharing can signal ease. ‘Nobody listens anyway’, withdrawal or trying harder may ask for recognition. These are invitations to listen, not proof your child is using their strategy incorrectly.

Loving support in everyday life

School and learning

Notice with the teacher when your child contributes clearly and when they tire. A focused question or small group may help. They do not have to be the guide of the whole class.

Stimulation and coming home

Allow a quiet landing after school before asking many questions. Offer a drink and gentle company; talk later about moments that took energy.

Rest and recharging

Offer small islands of rest before exhaustion. Drawing, reading or quiet play may help; follow your actual child’s needs rather than a fixed schedule for their type.

Talking without a battle

Recognise their observation before asking for advice. Keep boundaries kind and clear: ‘I hear your idea. For now we’re doing this; we can look again later.’

Your child is always more than their passport. Use Human Design as a loving mirror, not a fixed label, diagnosis or prediction. Notice what you actually see and hear. Persistent difficulties at school, exhaustion or concerns about wellbeing deserve appropriate support; an energy type does not explain everything. Adults remain responsible for safety, health and everyday boundaries.
