How we handle your child's data

The controller responsible for processing personal data is SoulSync by Nanna, Dutch Chamber of Commerce registration number 22055117, based in The Hague.

From the parent (account holder): email address and password (stored in encrypted form), or your Google account if you use it to log in.

From the child (entered by the parent): full birth name, date of birth, time of birth and place of birth. We use this data solely to calculate the magical passport.

Conversations with Mickey: conversations are not saved automatically. A conversation is only stored if the child presses "Save" themselves. The child can always delete saved conversations themselves.

• To calculate the magical passport (superpower, secret talent, star element and expression number).
• To let Mickey give personalised answers based on the passport.
• To secure your account and give you access to your own data.

We never sell data, use it for advertising or share it with third parties for marketing.

Only a parent or guardian can create an account. When signing up, you declare that you are the parent or guardian of the child or children you are creating a passport for, and that you consent to the processing of the data listed above.

You can withdraw this consent at any time by downloading and deleting the data in the Parents' Corner.

Data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you have not logged in for 12 months, we delete your account and all associated data. You do not need to wait: you can download or delete everything yourself at any time in the Parents' Corner.

Only you, as the logged-in parent, have access to your children's profiles and passports. Conversations with Mickey are not saved and therefore are not read by anyone else — unless the child saves a conversation themselves. The conversations are, however, processed by an AI service to generate answers; no identifying data such as a surname or address is sent along with them.

Payments are processed via Stripe. We only receive whether the subscription is active; card details never reach us. The AI provider that creates Mickey's answers may process data outside the European Union. Appropriate safeguards are in place for this, such as Standard Contractual Clauses. Conversations are not used to train AI models.

• Access and download: you can download all your family's data in the Parents' Corner.
• Deletion: you can permanently delete everything in the Parents' Corner.
• Lodge a complaint: you can lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Dutch Data Protection Authority) (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Data is protected with modern encryption and access controls. Each account can only access its own data. We never ask children for a surname, address, school, phone number or photo in the chat.

StarKids uses no tracking or advertising cookies. We only store a functional login session, so that you stay signed in. Our hosting platform keeps anonymous visitor statistics, such as the number of visits and pages viewed. No personal profiles are created and visitors are not tracked.
